GREYTOWN NOTES.

(From Oui'Own CoiTeSpondent),

Thursday, ; Mr Cyril Pownalland family left here yesterday afternoon for the Old Country. Mr Pownall settled here abolit.two years ago, and although thoroughly satisfied with life in these parts has decided to return to his nativo land,

It is reported here that a son of a well-known settler of Morrison's Bush went out of hismind this week, Ho jumped out of tho. upstair window of the house andreceived several bruises and is now being carefully attended to. ' The Exhibition to be held next Thursday'and Friday in the Palace Hall, promises to be a most successful affair. Exhibits are promisedfrom all parts of the district. An exhibition of this kind cannot be run without expense, thereto, I hope tho residents all over the district will pay the exhibition a visit, I hear that a marriage was celebrated at Dalefield yesterday, the Rev. W. Eowso acted as the officiating Minister, ; The Rev. S. J. Gibson, will continue his monthly lectures to young people shortly. . To show what little interest is taken in borough matters here, three councillors were wanted and only four persons were nominated for the position. An election of this kind should bring out a dozen ratepayers at least.

I am glad to hear that Mr John Fuller, senr., who was found in an unconscious condition in Wellington is getting well again, and is expected home this week. We are still having plenty of rain and if it remains warmtherivors will bo in flood,
