Meeting of Creditors.
Estate of John Cmmirigs. A meeting of creditors in the cs« of John Oummincs was liold at the Courthouse, Pahiatun, on Thursday, there king fivo creditors present, tlio D.0.A., Mr W.B, siding, John' Oumraings on oath stated that ho did not know whero the village settlement lease was, He had been residing on the land leased, and his family were there at present, Had never seen the lease or applied to sign it. The debts had all been incurred since Jau. 1890.
James Jones, of liketalmna, gavo evidence to the effect that debtor had represented to witness that ho had sevou heifers which ho would soil in order to pay off a debt which he bad contracted for goods, Abraham Barrell deposed that lie was a butcher, and that accused had run into debt with him, and ltiul continually promised to pay, He had nevor dono so. Wm. Parses stated that debtor had obtained boots from him, and had promised to pay him next day. Mr Jones proposed, and Mr Walker seconded, that the Assignee be instructed to lay the facts before the Crown Prosecutor.—Carried. The meeting then adjourned,
