Cr Coekbuni-Hood moved and Cr von Keden seconded: - That it bo a recommendation to the Council in future to provide for the cost of clerical work in connection with the raising and spending of loans, and the collection of special rates, by charging 1 per cent, on the loans, and adding the same percentage on the amounts collected by way of special rates, to pay for the cost of collection,—Carried, ACCOUNTS. It was resolved to recommend the Council to pass forpaymciitaceounts amounting to £1(11016s ml, HATES HUE. It was decided to make a recommendation to the Council to advise Mr G. W. Phillips to pay the rates mid costs owing by him, and if lie has any claim, in respect of dealings with the late Alfredton Road Board, to lay them before the Council, in a proper manner, when they will reccive consideration, DAV.MiK TIIIiOUOJI GnVKIIX.MK.Vr WOIIKS. Cr Maunsell moved and Cr Cock-|burn-Hood seconded:—ln view of the recent inconvenience and loss to the ratepayers, in connection with the recent Grcville-Cnrgill libel action, to direct the stalf in future to claim as part of their expenses, the amount of their average daily salary, and that such, when obtained, form part of the County fund—Carried.
