Monday. About 5.30 last Saturday evening a young Maori man, whilst riding along Main Street, narrowly escaped a serious accident, When opposite the Bank of Now Zealand his horse commenced bucking, resulting in horse and rider falling heavily on to the rough metal. The wonder is how tho young fellow escaped as he did, for the horse in 'rearing fell back upon the ridor, who had no time to extricate himself before the fall, It quite surprised the onlookers to see tho young fellow mount again and ride off apparently none the worse for the mishap.
