At a special meeting of tho Mastcrton Borough Council last evening, a special order was mado formally adopting the new By-laws.
After a somewhat lengthy discussion the By-law relating to the charge to be levied on passengers from the Mastcrton Railway Station, was again altered last night by tho Borough Council before being finally moved, so that the distance over which the charge is not to exceed sixpence, remains almost tho same as under the old By-law.

On the suggestion of Mr C. A, Pownail, the Mastcrton _ Borough Council has retained aclnnsc in its new by-laws, stating that no person shall erect any house nothavingafrontage to a street, without tho consent of the Council, or shall overcrowd any space with buildings. This regulation will bo confined to No 1 District.
