Tho damage done to the Awahuri bridge by the recent flood is far more serious than at first anticipated. Some of the piles have been washed out, and the strain has caused the structure to cant up at one end. The dnmago will cost a considerable sum to. repair, and traffic over the bridge has been entirely suspended.
