A letter from Mr S.E. Sligh,the Otago Rugby Union's delegateto the English Union, says there wa3 no idea of arbitration by the English Union respecting the New Zealand Union and the Southern Unions, He says emphatically that he did not charge the New Zealand Union with professionalism, W hat ho did say was that such a state ot affairs might oxist should a New Zealand team visit England, Regarding tiro financial prospects of an English torn' he cites Mr Rowland HiH as an authority for a statement that there could bo only two or three paying gates iu London. The rest of the tour would mean " fagghg " through Yorkshire.
