FOOTBALL.
[By Damocles.] A match was played on the Pahiatua Athletic grouiids on Saturday afternoon between teams representing the Pahiatua anil Mangatninoka Public Schools, the Pahiatua team ■ winning by 6 points (2 tries) to nil. Messrs Cowles and Wilson acted as : referee and umpire respectively, after the match a practice was held 1 by teams selected by Messrs Cushion , and Kuight, Mr Ca'shion's teamwin- , iug by twelvo points (4 tries) to . seven (one try and a potted goal.) ! Mr G. Griffith acted asreferee
