MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.
| Monthly Meeting, The regular monthly meeting of the Masterton Road Board was held on Saturday last. Present—Messrs Cameron, (Chairman), Stuckey, McKenzic, Harris, and Holmes. JII.VUIKS. The minutes .of the last ordinary and the annual meeting were read and confirmed. FAICOXEIt's GATE, On the motion of Mr Holmes, seconded by Mr Harris, it was resolved that the time by which Mr Falconer should rcmovo his gate on the Fcrnridgo Road be extended for three months, that is, to September 23rd, 1894; on the distinct' understanding that no application for further oxtension will be entertained, ORAVEIj reserves, Mr M, Bourke, who attended the meeting to make application for the lease of a gravel reservo on Dorset's road, was informed that the Board was not in a position to give a legal title, Mr Stuckey agreed to make enquiry at the Commissioner's office in "Wellington, as to tho position of these gravel reserves, and report at next meeting, which Mr Bourke said he would attend. MAXCE. The Finance Committee's report, recommending accounts amounting to £lB9 19s 3d for payment was read and adopted, engineer's report, The Engineer's report was read, > Resolved that the recommendation relative to repairs on the Opaki District Road be approved.—That Mr P. Carr be given notice to complete his contract on Dorset's and Kaka-amu Road, That Mr Minogue be advised that the Board's attention has been called totheiaiMktliißwoolsliediserected partly Worttaft'smdwsw'Vfl,'

■ _ The Board then proceeded'to consider tho estimates for maintonanco and general expenditure, for the year 1894-5.
Mr Holmes moved and Mr Harris seconded that subject to reductions, in several items, the estimates for sub-division No 1 be approved and a separate rate of 3-Bths of a penny 'agreed upon.—Cawiod. Mr Cameron moved and Mr MoKenzio seconded that the item Wan■gaehn Bond £289 8b 9d in the estimates for sub-division No 2, be reduced by the sum of £IOO and tho amended item together with the remaining estimate be approved with a rate of ii-lb'th of a penny, Carried. Mr Stuckoy moved and Mr Cameron seconded that the estimates for sub-division No. 3 as submitted be approved with a separate rate of 3-Bths of a penny.—Carried. The Clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps to make tho rates mentioned,
Mr Stuckoy moved that in the event of the proposal to raise £IOO 1 for metalling the Opaki.Rangitum.au Road being carried, the engineer be requested to prepare plans and carry out the work.
The meeting then adjourned.
