SINGULAR'ACCIDENT.
Narrow Escape of a Tenui Settler. (By Telegraph. Own Correspondent) .Tenui, Friday. Yesterday John O'Connor, eldest son of Mr P. O'Connor of this place, had a narrow escape from a fatal accident. He wus threshing corn by horse power, when the driving gear being ho powerful for the strength of the machine, caused the iusido and top of the machine to burst and fly in all directions. One of the pieces of. iron striking him on the leg caused it to bleed profusely, rendering him unconscious,
