A most destructive fire broke out at two o'clock this morning, in the centre of the town, and destroyed several business places in the main street, , When the. alarm was given[thc fire was bursting through the roof of Parncll's music shop. It quickly spread to the Bank of New South Wales on ono side and Pavnell and Go's ironmoiipery store on the other. The Bank of New South Wales was destroyed, the Brigade saving the block with difficulty. . The fires must be the work of an incendiary, for fires were started in three different places, and kerosene was used.
