PIGEON MATCH.

A pigeon match sweepstake took place yesterday afternoon in a paddock adjoining Mr Hiley's Tauherenikau hotel, lie presenting four prizes, viz,: Ist £3,2 nd £2, 3 rd £\, ith 10s. There was a very fair attendance of sports, and as there was no wind tbe birds flew well. The following were the performances of these for the Autumn Handicap ! Feast ... 28 „ 1111011 6 WiHutana... 29 „ 0001011 3 W.Mitchell... 23 „ 0100 a 1 W, Donald.., 23 „ 10010 a 2 J. MoCartby 23 „ HOOlt 2 H. Willis ... 28 „ 1011110 6 O, Burt ... 28 „ 110110} 5 K. Burt ... 21 „ 001r 1 A, Feast ... 28 „ 1111010 6 A, Bnle ,„ 28 ~ 00a 0 J.Bidwill ... 29 „ lOUOr 8 S.Burt ... 23 „ 1101001 i J. Feast took first prize, and as W. Feast, A, Feast, 0, Burt and H, Willis all tif d, tbey decided to divide tbe stakes between them, There was a five shilling match alterwards, but the stakes bad to be divided amongst the winners, as there were qqt enough pigeons to finish with.
