A special meeting of Waeterton Masonic Lodge No 19„ N.Z.0., was held last night at the Lodge-room Bannister Street, for tho purposo of bidding farewell Master Bro., James Aitken, Masterton. In spite offlSMfer ' altraotions the attendance was large, aud a number of visitors from other Lodges were present. After the Lodge had been formally opened, the W.M.i Bro 0. A. Pownall, presented Bro Aitken with an expre<sivo and very complimentary address, signed by the and members, and also a further token of the very high esteem in which Bro Aitken is held, In the course of a suitable speech the W.M. alluded to the many good qualities of the departing brother and of the great assistance he ha? been to the 4 Masterton Lodge during his six residence in this district, Bro. Aitken feelingly replied, speaking in warm '.terms ofthegood feeling which had always sjjppbetweon himeelf and the other metf bera, botMj inside and out of expressed tlm hope that fro mi™ again have the privilege of visiting Masterton and its Masonic Lodge at some future date. At the conclusion | of the ÜBiial ceremonies, brethren re- ! paired to the supper room and an , enjoyable time was spent, the Lodge orchestra (under the direction of t Bro. A. von Keisenberg) giving < several fine selections, and nccom- ! piinying the vocal items rendered by Bros.Gayfer.Aitkennnd W.
