All the world and his wife were present last night at the dance given . at the Temperance Hall, Masterton, in connection with the approaching departure of the Bev. W. E. and Mrs Paige. Unfortunately, owing to an atlaok of bronohilis, Mrs Paige was unable to be present, and many expressions of sympathy were heard on all sides at her unavoidable absence. About a hundred and seventy persons were present, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. The floor waß good, the decorations simple, but effective, and the hand, under the leadership of Mr H. Bees, of the Taueru, first rate. The thanks of thoße who were present.are due to Mrs F. G. Moore for much of the success of tlie evening, and she was aided by many willing helpers. At twelve o'clock the band struck up " Auld Laug Syne," and the many friends of the reverend guest of the evening offered their best wishes for his future prosperity.
