At a dinner tendered to Sir Tim H'llwraith by Queenslanders at pre. sent resident in London, Sir, Robert Herbert, Agent-General for Tasmania in proposing the health oi tlie guest, said that the Australasian colonies would never bo satisfied until they bad a visit from the Prince of Wales, Sir Thomaß Mcllwraith, who received a cordial reception, referred to the increasing prosperity of Queensland, and indicated the necessity for the prudual mitigation of the school lof Socialism. The people, he said, were too imich inclined to rely on the Siate, The colonists themselves were piobably stronger supporters of! Imperial Federation than Lord Bipon was. He defended the annexation of I New Guinea.
