Finarice.Commitiee Meeting.
A meeting of the Finance Committee of the above Council was held this morning. Present: Councillors Maunsell (Chairman), Smith, Grove's, Cook-bom-Hood and vpu Eeden.
The Treasurer reported a net credit of £2,25419s 4d, • Accounts amounting to £3,746 16s 7d were recommended for payment, '■:';<; In reply to an application for coo> pensation for .making a road to the gravel pit at Langdon's," it was resolved to recommend the Counoil that if the permanent use of tbo pit can be secured, the application lor £5 be granted, and that Cr Mauhsell be requested to interview Mma Langdon, with a view of arranging- the leasp or purchase'of thp pit, ; ' It was resolved to inform the AlfredtorDomain Board that the Counoil has no : power to remit fates on the Public Hall, and if the Board .is, rJi'S' satisfied wit^/.the'-VyaluaUuii',"':!
