Althongh no tail motion was made on the subject, h few more Bills were cleared from the order paper yesterday. Order Number 16, the adjourned debate ou flolonel fox's report, was also abandoned, There were numerous enquiries of the Premier concerning the Libel Bill, to which Mr Seddon replied that he had still fiomo hope for this measure, a remark greeted with a sardonic grin by Mr Fisher. Sir John Hull protested there were still forty Bills ou paper, including the Native Land Purchase and Acquisition Bill,a measure v hich the Ilatives would he likely £o debate at considerable leugth; the Criminal Coda Bill, which would be likely to last two days; a number of Labour Bills, and other measures of considerable importance, Ii would be impossible to pass ihese in a week, The Premier suggested that the good sonse of members should come to the rencue, ai.d liolp them to gi't through the work, a remark which did not seem to be welcomed with delight by the Opposition—N. Z. Times.
