Ordinary Meeting,
The ordinary monthly meeting of ] tbo above Board was held on Satur- ] day last. Present: Messrs fl. K. , Bunny (chairman), H, Braithwaite, \ G. \Y. Dellar, W. B. Allen, J. Bnyh'er, nod W.' Miller, Tho minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. ' The Treasurer reported tho Bank overdraft to be i 783 lis Id. A statement of liabilities of eaoh Ward was read by tho Clerk. Outstanding ratea.were shown to be £556 10s fid. Kesolved that the lorms offered by the Bank of New Zealand, in respeot to the overdraft be accepted. Correspondence inward was received from Mflungatcrere Valley Koad ro expenditure of accrued thirds. Eeaolvec* that the request of the apiilUntsbeaccedidlo. From Mr P. Carr re the state of road by Jack Eon's Creek, stating that it greatly impeded him in getting on wityu« jj^wt, mn settler «the Kaiwhata road offering certain lands for the road j provided tho Board will beat the ox* pewepf shifting tho fences.- Kesolved tint Messrs Nilz, Phillipson and Adams be communicated with to , ascertain if they are satisfied with the road as lauLoff by Mr McLaoblnn, and that irflie ■ event of a favourable reply being received Mr Kummer be autbotkd to remove tho fence as suggested by bimsell. Mr Maunsell wrote complaining of the obstructions on the road. It was moved by Mr Braithwaito 1 seconded by Mr Deller, that Mr ])arroch b) empowered to take proceedings against any person who may in any way place obstructions on the roads. i A' complaint from Mr H. Resolved that Mrs Giant bo paid £7 in full acknowledgment of right of [road through the property at Gladstone. On the ration of tho Chairman, the resolution that the County Council be asked to 1< vy a special rate for the assistance of fie Road Boards was rescinded, and the following motion substituted, " That the County Council, whon they strike tho next year's rates, levy a sufficient rate to recoup the Road Board for their outlay in repairing the several bridges in the district." j Some accounts were passed for' payment, ami tho meeting adjourned |
