Hawera, June 15th. We had only a moderately good sale at Stratford on Friday the 9th inst, for not nearly, the expeoled number ofcattlo were present. jVtjiß yurda, but this for by the impassableetate ofaome of the roads. There were a good number of would. be purchasers present, but most of them were unable to fill their requirements owing to the particular lines of cattle they wanted uot coming in. Bidding was brisk however, so that the majority of th& stock changed hands at the hammer or immediately afterwards, W& quote, 18 months steers £3 6s to £3 8?; 12 to 18 months heifers, £2 6s to £2 10b; cowb inoalf, £8 8s 6d to £4 9s.

There was a large attendance at , our Hawera sale on Wednesday the 14th inst,, though the entries of cattle fell very short of the advertised number, thus causing disappointment to several purchasers who. had come from a distance. Bidding w&b keon for every line offered and with two exceptions every pen of cattle was. sold. Sheep were' dull of Bale and very little business was done. We quote, fat bullocks, £6 2a 6d to £6l6s; 2i year steers, U9sto £i 10s; fat cows, Mls to £4 lis; springers,, £sl2s 6d to £6 17b 6d;SiiKEP; ewes in lamb, 6s 3d; shorn lambs, 6s 2d.
