Adjourned Committee Meet- - tig, The adjourned meeting of the Committee of the Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association Was held in the Club Hotel 6n Saturday, at two o'clock, Present—Mesara A. W. Cave, President (in,the chair), Stuokey, Hessey, Lewis, 1 Welch, w. Perry, F. Gray, T. E. Ohamberlain, Dagg, Harvey, A.- Stewart, W. McKenzie,.E. E.Obatqljjylaio, Guild, Meredith, ■ D.' MoKenzie, D. G, Cameron, Smith, W. Perry and T, P, Lett. ;
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, : A letter was received from the Tiinaru A. and P.' Association, stating that the Committee appointed to consider the Stook and Drainage Billß, thought that many of the clauses were too arbitrary/ and unworkable, suggesting that action shoiiMbe laken to have them amebdej'^'prevent theStook Bill becoming"law in its present form. Tho letter pointed out the particular olapses objected to.— Kcferred to the Committee appointed to consider the draft bills.
, The.matter of the special prize advertised in the name of Mr T, E, Price, and won by Mr Sykes was next dealt with. Mr Price had noted on the order tbat he had not promised any prize. Mr Guild, who had canvassed for the special prizes, interviewed Mr Price during the day and announced that be bad evidently forgotten his promise but bad agreed to give Mr Sykes the one dozen photos, and the Secretary was instructed to notify this to Mr Sykes.
From Mr Meredith withdrawing the name of liia sod J, M. Meredith from the General Committee,— Resignation accepted.
The subject of electing a Secretary was next dwlt with iffljgusifflittee, On the motion of Mr seconded by Mr Hessey,Mr W. Lowes was unanimously appointed Secretary of Ibe Association.
Mr R, McKay was also appointed a member of the General Committee.
The following were appointed a finance Committee to deal with ao* countsMeasra Meredith, Lewis and Guild.
The report of the Ground Com' mittee, as previously published, was read, Offers oi assistance to pot : the ground in order were accepted from the following members :-E. E. Chamberlain, 10s; A. W. Cavei 10s ; J. Hesßey, 10s; W.J. Welch, 10s; W. Meßenzie's team and.set of harrow,
A. motion regretting that prize tickets had been placed on exhibits, where no prize had been awarded, in sections 65 and 56, fat sheep; was carried,
The meeting then adjourned,
