FOOTBALL.
[By Damocles.] A. match was played on tho Park Oval yesterday between tennis representing tlio Mastodon and Carterton Tradesmen's Clubs, and resulted in a very hollow viotory for Masterton by some twenty-two points to sis. The ground was in a very slippery condition, and a good many spectators watohed the pto« greas of the game, which was not at any time very exciting. Tries for tho Home team wore scored by Thompson, Hudson (8), and A, Welch, Hudson, • Wriglo/, and Riohards converted three, and the latter player kicked a goal from a penalty kiok. for Uarterton Cadwalador scored a try, and McKenzio potted a goal. The most conspicuous players for the winners wevo: Wrigley, Hudson, Thompson, Owan, and Wellington, whilst for Carterton Oadwalader, McKenzie, Darroch and Webb seemod to do tho most work, The game was playod in excellent spirit throughout, and the visitors did very well, considering tho number' of old footballers they had pitted against them. The following team will represent Grey town agoinat Masterton on Saturday next H. Udy. Jackson, Hawkins, Faulkner, Tate, Hawke, Maguiro, 0. and J. Beard, D. and E, Ddy, Mitobell, Leaoh,Welch,and Dnokery.
