Messrs Abraham & Williams report at their fortnightly sale at Pahiatua, on WednesdayWe had a large entry in both caKle and sheep. For cattle there was a briskdemand, sheep being slightly onsier. In beef heavy weight cows made £sl7s 6i), others £5lO to £sl2a j heifers, £7 17s 6(1 to £slos; 2 year old steers, £4; young steers, £2 15a; cows and calves, £4 15s to £5 10; dry cows, 70s to 98s; dairy cows springing, £sl2s Cd to £7 10s; yearlings, £2 12s 6d; calves, 29s to 88s. In sheep, f.m, ewes in lamb, 9s to 10a; inferior 6s to 7s 6d; culls, 2s 9d to 8s; fat sheep, 10s 7d; lambsi 5s 8d to 7s M Mr F. H. Wood reports of the stock Bale held by him yesterday as follows ;-Sheep came forward in larger quantities than the advertised entries, but very few cattle were yarded. With exception of three pens of sheep, whioh were passed in but subsequently Bold privately, all stock yarded Boid under the hammer. The quality of sheep was not up to the standard of the last few sales, but even allowing for this/ prices realised showed a downward tendency,, and are quoted as under, viz:—Empty store ewes, medium, 6s 6d to 7s; 2 tooth wethers, 10a 3d to 10s 6d; forward ewes, 8a | ewes and wethers, mixed and well fotword, 10a; culled ewes,4sto6s; : latnba, do, Sato 6s i 6d; old culled ewes, Is 9J, The en- , tries of cattle were confined to heifers aud dairy, coivs, the former realising' from 67s 6d to 80s, the latter.6os to 100 a.
