Wo regret to loarn that Mr Tom Wakolin died at his residenco at Morrison's Bush, near Groytown, last night. Ho had been working extra hard for the annual examination, up to last Thursday. Ho felt unwell and took to his bed last Friday, whon Dr Boy was called in, and said that ono lung was slightly offeoted, attended with "La Grippe," but at tho time there was no immediate dinger unloss it spread, when it would provo fatal. On Sunday last tlie uufortunato sufferer bocamo unconscious, and remained so till between five and nil o'clock last evon* imr, when he expired. Hewas 48yesrs of age, and leaves a widow and five sons and two daughters, who wero all present at tho time of his death, to mourn thoir loss. He was the eldost son of tho late Mr Richard Wakelin, and a brother of Mr It. A. Wakolin (ex-Mayor of Greytown). Ho was many years on the roportorial staff of tho WolliiigtonAd. vortlaer. After he became a teacher under the Wellington Educational Board ho carried off a It, A. dsgreo at a Now Zealand University examination. The funeral will leave his late residenc* at 2.30 p.m. next Friday.
