Parsons, (Chairman), AntefiovHowsett, Matbeson, Neilaon, and Mowbray. - _ Correspondence *'. was received from Mr Tarr, of New- "i man, requesting the Board to give bim access to his section, and that the Board at a former meeting had promised to do so, The Clerk was instructed to look up the minutes and report at next meeting. From Mr M. Neilson re Mangaone Road E.<dt. —Mr Greville was instructed to see to the work, From the Education Board, informing the Board that Mr Baird would visit the school ground and inspect the proposed drain on his next visit, From the Wairarapa North' County the alteration of boundaries. It was resolved that the Ckairnut}~ and Messrs Mathieson and meet an equal number oi members of the Alfredton Eoad Board to adjust the. boundaries, and also to discuss the question of amalgamation of tho ! two Boards and severance from the ' Wairarapa North County Council. A petition was read from various . settlers of the Wellington S.S. Block , No 1, asking the Board to take steps to i raise a loan Of £2500 for the purposa | of forming and metalling North road, and all the roads in that Block. 1 A deputation waited on the Board . re the proposed loan. ) Messrs Cooper, Dunstall, and Mor« ris expressed themselves strongly j opposed to the scheme of tbo Stirljpg , settlers re a Central road. » A petition was read from settletaa in the Wellington S.S. Block south | and the Stirling S.S. Association ask- , iug the Board to take steps to raise a : loan of £2,000. I A petition was also read from the Wellington S.S. south settlers asking |. TV Board to raise a loan of £6OO to 3 fuirn and metal a road through tho 9 Wellington No 1 Block south to the j Mangatainoka river. ! The Chairman oxplained that the Stirling S.S, Association had ~ offered to contribute £IOOO towards making a central road from their j block through the Wellington No 2, j and Parkville to Eketahuna direct, j and he would like to seo a scheme brought forward in which all could r avail themselves of this generous offer. 0 Mr Morris suggested tho settlers a raising a loan sufficient to do tho ' work on the whole block, and thus do j away with tho present jealousy. He ' felt sure that if this was.donothe settlers would all vote for the loan, Finally it waß deoided that the Enginoer should make an estimato within three weeks as to the cost of forming and completing all roads in the Wellington B.S. Blooks excepting the Totura Reserve and Zig Zag 'O roads, and that a public meeting : should be arranged to discuss the 1. whole scliemo, '. A potition was read from the Stirling Association asking the Board to 'a raise a loan of £I,OOO. A deputation ;• was also present in supporl ,, oUW petition, re liU, WaSST®' ]. Engineer's estimates are in the Board's ,li hands. It was resolved that in future all le roads formed bo stumped eighteen 10 feet clear. id The balloting out of two members, resulted in the retirement from office of of Messrs T. Bayliss and Mowbray.
