Demonstration at Ehetahuna,

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Knights of Labor Demonstration, held in the Town Hall, was well attended. Speoohea for the occasion were made by Messrs W. McLsan, M.H.R., and Hogg, M.H.R. Mr H. Aulin acted as chairman, The speeches were entirely of a selfcongratulatory character, as to the enormous amount of good that had been done by the present Government for the working man'. Mr McLoan, in the course of bis address, stated tho surplus this year would be the largest that we have ever had/ He called upon the settlers to uphold the present Government, That a heavy fight would be fought out at the next election, | therecould be no doubt. He would advise then; if money was offered to take it. _ The working man never had a fair 'Ohance against the moneyed man of the country now. He might say that he was a thorough supporter of female franchise, still they would require a little training for tho ballot.

• Mr Hogg thought that the Knights I of Labour bad been the cause: of the present Government being in power, Tho, organisations I ,had .increased greatly since its first formation in Auckland, their plitform being the greatest good to the greatest number.
