SHIP ON FIRE at WELLINGTON.
By Telegraph;— Own Correspondent. Wellington, Monday, The ship Auckland, owned by tbe Shaw, Saville and Albion Company, was discovered to be on fire in the after part, about two hours after tho fireat Cbalmer's. Tho fire was put out with difficulty, but not much damage was done to the ship. The cargo-consisting of flax and wool—: ia t however, thought to be cousiderably damaged; but it is difficult to say to what extent until she is discharged. Discharging will be commenced to-day. The Auckland was lying at the wool wharf, not 100 yards from tbe scone of the fire on Waterloo Quay. The fact of a fire ocourring on the ship when loading, will necessitate a general average being struck in addition to which she is likely to be considerably delayed in sailing. ]
