MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.
Ordinary Meeting. Tho ordinary meeting of tho Board was hold- on Saturday, 25th instant. Pi'esoufc: Messrs Beetlium (chairman), MoKoazio, Harris, Holmes and Wardell. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and continued. CORRESPONDENCE Waa received from John Match* ford applying that his name be removed from the roll in respect of certain property on tho Upper Plaiu, —Agreed to. From tho Board's solicitor ro proceedings takon in respect of the Weraiii Bond.—Besolvcd on the motion of Mr Holmes seconded by Mr Wardcll that tho action of the Chairnmn in advertising notico of tho Board'B intention to takn tlio road be approved. A loiter from Messrs Buckley.Stafford and Treadwell was referred to the County solicitor, On iho motion of Mr Wardell Seconded by Mr Bcolham it was resolved that Saturday, the Ist <liy of April, at noon, be tho day for hearing objections to taking of Weraiti Bond, FINANCE, The report of the Finance Committho was received and adopted, The Committee recommonded the payment of accounts amounting to £lO5 5s lOd. Tho report recommended that £1 bo grunted to C. Reshal for his efforts in saving a bridge on the Brancepeth road from being burned down ; also that tlio Clerk bo instructed to ask the Auditor-General whether tho Board can legally contribute a sum of mouey towards the construction of 'iv Moreno within tho Borough of Mubterton, GENERAL, Resolved that Mr Jonei' attention be directed to the resolution passed on the 2(ith Nov, last ro road to Cado and Harrison's mill. Resolved that Mr Walsh bo writton to, informing him that ha must proceed at once to complete his contract on the liiriwhaliiipapa road, Resolved that Mr Dawson be writ ten to to proceed with his bridge building on the Kiriwhnkapnpa. On the motion of Mr Holmes seconded by Mr Beethani, it was resolved that next rear's estimates in respect of the Matahiwi be anticipated to tho amount of fifteen pounds, the work to be arranged with Mr J. W. Welch by Mr Holmes, tlio work to be done to the satisfaction of Mr Holmes and the Engineer. On tho motion of the Chairman seconded by Mr Holmes it was rosolved that Mr Harris bo authorised to expend the sum of L2O (anticipating next year's rates) in metalliug.on the Opaki District Road between the school and Mr Campbell's terrace. Tho Board then adjourned till April Ist.
