Ordinary Meeting. > The usual monthly meeting of the ; Eketahuua Road Board was held on . Saturday last, Present Messrs T, I Parson? (Chairman), Anderson, Dow- i sett.T. Bayliss Matheson,andNeihen. i The minutes of tho previous meet- ■ ing were read and confirmed. i CORRESPONDENCE | was read from settlers of tho Wellington S.S. re forming a road to tho back sections, From M, F, Burke, owner of sections 19, 21, 57, re oponing up roadto his sections, It was resolved that tho Engineer bo insttucted to repair to the extent of £lO. From R, P, Greville re taking up the Board's work on the first of the month, From Bank N.Z. re Board's account, From Government, enclosing amount of £35 for formation of road to Mount Baker Block, From Wairarapa North County, re Mr Neilsen's Loan, From Mr Martin, re loan to be raised, and requesting tho Board to take no Bteps, as ho would derivo no benefit from, and he objocted to be rated for, the proposed bridgo across the Makakilu river. It was moved that resolution No. 5 of last meeting be rescinded, The motion was lost, From Commissioner of Crown Lands, ro thirds and district land affairs, From J, Anderson, owner of section 22, W,S,S„ saying t'nat if the trees in the road line were fallen they would injure his fencing, and i requesting the Board to get the trees ; fallen so as to enable him to fence, It was resolved that Mr Morgan expend 27s in meeting tho demand, ' It was resolved that Mr Clulow he allowed to fence in tho Gravel Reserve adjoining his property, at a rental of Is per year. Tho Board reserving the right to enter tho property at any time to take tho gravel. From Stewart and Gillon, requestiug that they receive £l2 instead of ) £8 IBs for work on the Makakahi road contract. From Mr Smith (Sterling Associa« i tion), requesting the Board to form , an estimate of cost of road through . Parkville to Totara Reserve; the ; distance being i\ miles. It was resolved that the Engineer - bo instructed to take steps to estimate f costs, 3 Resolved that £5 be expended on 1 road in front of sections 18, 20, 22, i Parkville; tho amount to come out of f next year's rates. Mr Heileon was appointed ranger to the Board. It was resolved that the monthly meetings of tho Board be hold on the first Saturday in each month, The meeting then adjourned,
