CORRESPONDENCE.

"That Emu I" [To the Emtor W, D. Times.] Sin, —As the" local"you published in yesterday's Times ro the untimely end of Mr Elkins' emu is considerably wido of tho truth, and calculated to give your readers a wrong impression of the pugilistic propensities of the wallabi and emu. Tho fact in this case is—instead of u t" battle royal which lastod some time" the wallabis were merely having an afternoon gambol—wore racing from ono end of their enclosure to the other to warm themselves, the unfortunate emu happened to get directly in front cf a wallabi as he jumped, with the result that tho wallabi landed on tho emu's back, crushing the emu to tho ground and breaking a leg close to the body. I had it killed soon after to put it out of pain, I am, die, L, F. Ayson, Fish Ponds, January 26th, 1893.
