MASTERTON-FEIDAY. (Boforo Colonel Roberts, 8.M.) STRAY CATTLE, Ingram v. I. Allon,—Chmged with allowing two cows, two horßes, and a heifer to bo at largo on Chamberlain Strcot, Upper Plain, on the 16th of December. Defendant pleaded not guilty, Inspector Ingram proved theoffence. Allen stated (hat ho had previously been convicted for the offence then before the Court, On reference to the Eegistrar it was found that the last conviction was for a similar offence committed on the 27th of November, A fino of 5s was inflicted with 7s costs, Ingram v Bentley.—Charged with allowing two horses to bo at large in Sussex Street on the 17th inst. Defendant pleaded not guilty Inspector Ingram proved tlio offence. Mr Bentley said tho grass in the street had become a great nuisance to the residents. He had applied to Borough Council to get the grass out but had been told there was no money, Councillors had advised him to let horses run on tho street and eat the grass down. He had simply dona it for tho public good, and had never allowed them to stray, A fine of Is and 7s costs was inflicted. Ingram v Alfred Weaver, Charged *i.th driving horses without harness within the Borough, The case was adjourned, the service of summons beiu:> irregular
