LAND BOARD.
Ordinary Meeting.
The ordinary meeting of tho above was held in the Land Board offices yesterday. Present:—The Commissioner of Crown Lantla, Mr J. H. Baker, and Messrs A. W, Hogg, F. Pirani and T. W. Fisher, Tho Commissioner informed tho Board that Mr P. Pirnni bad been appointed a member thereof. Mr W.W.McCardle waited on the Board with rcforence to the transfer of soetioD 90, Elock 1, Makuri, from G. Lund to R. Shumacker, which was refused at the last meeting, ft was resolved to get a full report from the manager on the circumstances of the 4feuiefore taking steps to forfeit the Jano^ Applications to obtain titles in respect of tho following sections were approved, the conditions having been soinplicd with: —Section 7, Block IV, Apiti; sections 82, Block XIV, Pollangina; section 88, Block 11, Waipebu; section 46, Block XVI, Onuo; section 40, Block 111, Mangahao; section 8, Block VI, Mangahao; section 77, Block VI, Mangahao; section 40, Block V, Mangaone; section 5, Block 111, Mangaono; section 39, Block IX, Mangaoue. Subject to conditions being complied with tbo following applications for titles were approved :—Section 135, Block XIV, Mangaono; Section 114,810ck VI) Mangahao; seotionO, Block XIV, Pohangina, The following application was not approved :—For title for section 5, Block XV, Mangahao, tho conditions of tho Act not having being complied ■with. Application to transfer wore nj>proved as follcknggctions 44 and 45, Block -fttf Motion 8, Biock XII., Apiti, A. E. nnd fl. E. Oldham to R. A. R, Oldham, H. E. Oldham, andR.A. R. Oldham re- • spectively, being a ro>distribution of tho property; section 49, Block 111,, Pohangina, from 0. Monrod to S. Hirst; uection 66, Block YIP, Ongo, from J, Sangster and E, Scarrow to i W. Hammond; section 182, -Block XIII., Mangaone, from A. E. Petersen and A, Simonsen toP, A, Petersea.
Tho application by D, Jones to transfer section 57, Block VII., Apiti, was not approved, tho conditions not having been complied with. Applications to capitalise were approved m respect of the following sections :-rSection 37, Block XL,
Apili; sections 83 and 84, Block 'XIV,, Apiti; section 41, Block X,, Sgiuaj section 82, Block XIV, 4 gina ; section 8, Block IX, , ikuto; section 46, Block XIV., Ongo; section 47, Block XII, Makuri; section 148, Block XIII,, Mangabao; section 89, Block IX,, Mangabao; section 0, Block XIV., Pohangina; section 45, Block XL, Apiti; Bection 8, Block XII,, Apiti; section 61, Blook VII,, Mangahao. An application by J. Kay to trans* fer sections 6 and 7, Block VIII,, Wainuiom, to St, Clair Jounnax instead of J. Brown was approved. On the motion of Mr Hogg, seconded by Mr Jftrani, and as an out-
como of a letter from the Survnyov Goncrnl, it wan resolved that the Miniator of Lands be naked to make enquiry as to the advisability of establishing a villago settlement on the land in question, and offering the remainder of tbo block in areas suitable for small farms.
It was resolved 10 get special ro>' ports as regards improvements to be effected on village settlement sections 1426 and 1127, MOO, 1569, and 1470, 1478, and 1474, 1471 and 1472, Bunnythorpo; lot 3, Alfredton ; section 59 etc, 205, 200, 225, 200,220, etc, 07, Huntervillo, and sections 41 and 30, Lovin. Mr J. 11. Brcdin wrote suggesting that certain conditions should be inserted in the loaso of reserve Section 11, Block XIII., Ongo, when it is offered for sale, It was resolved to recommend thud a term of 14 yeajs ho substituted for seven years. An implication by L 11. Booties to surrender section 390, Block XIV,, Mikimiki, was refused.
An application by R. W. Coffin to surrender soction 303, Block XII,, Wainuioiu and havo his deposit returned to him, was approved so far as the surrender was concerned, there being no power to refund the department, An extension of time in which to mako his payments was granted to the selector of sections 2, Block VII., Tararua, and 23, Block IX., Mangaone,
In rospect of the purchase by him of section 15, Block XV., Ongo, from Miss W. Camrell, 11. E. Pearce asked (hat a separate lease be issued. It was decidep to ask toll Miss Camrell and the Ranger to report on the case. An application by G. E. Prince to be allowed to l'esido on section 22, adjoining section 41, Block XXXI,, Mangaone, instead of on tho latter section, was approved,
