Harry Tomkinson was charged by tho police with stealing two steel surveyors' tapes, and a tent fly from the premises of Thomas P. Lett, the same being the property of A. J. Rawaon, surveyor, of Masterton, and the value being U 10s. The accused pleaded guilty. The Bench commented strongly on the conduct of tho accused, and said there was no excuse for him, The accused said he had been drinking heavily of late.
