CRICKET.

An enjoyable game was..played nt Pahiatua on Saturday between a combined team from Eketahnna and Hawira against Pahiatua, Dr Gault captained the home team, aud Mr Selby the visitors. Mr Selby, on winning the toss, elected to go in first. The captain and W. Stainton faced the howling of Hewatt and Reeve. Not much of a stand was made until Wilson joined K. Griffiths, who showed some excellent play, and ran the score up considerably, the first innings closing for 04 runs. After an adjournment for lunch, the homo team went in and faced the bowling of G, Griffiths-and Foden, After a few overs H. Griffiths took tho ball from Foden. It was then that the wickets began to fall, G. Griffiths bowling, four maidens and taking three wickets. Tho bowling of Hewatt and Eeeve was very good for Pahiatua, but their team was minus some of their best men, which, no doubt, made a difference, the combined team winning by 90 runs.
