EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD.
Ordinary Ming, Tbo usual monthly meeting of tbe Eketahuna Eoad Board was hold on /Saturday uftornoon. Present: Messrs "Larsons (chairman), Dowsctt, Bayliss, Matbeson, Anderson and M. Neilson. The minutes oE the previous meeting were read and confirmed, Correspondence was read from Bank N.Z., Colonial Treasurer, and J. JoDger. 1). McGill wrote, complainingot horses and cattle trespassing on his now formation contract. It was resolved to ask neighbours to koep their 1 stock off Mr McGill's contraot. A petition was read from settlers in the Wellington Special Settlement Block, protesting against the Board giving Mr Price permission to fall 60 chains on a road line, The petition 1 stated tbat tbo road was not used by the settlers and that all }be money oould be spent with ad-
vantago on tho main roads in their Wards. Several settlers wero present to support tho petition. It was decided to givo notice that; the Board would receive tho resolution complained of at tho next meeting. Tenders were opened for road formation and metalling, the following were accepted:—S. Thompson for 52 ohaius of formation at Mangaorongi, £180; 0. Evans for 100 chains of road clearing at Mnngaoronga, £47105; JJDrysilale, for 7 chainß metalling on Wellington S.S., North Block, £ll I Ids 6-1. It ra decided to ndvertiso in March for a ranger to act for the whole district under control of the Board. The Commissioner of Lauds new scheme for working the Land Act by local bodies was read aud discussed, A number of accounts were passed for payment and the meeting adjourned, It was decided to hold a special mooting of the Eoad Board on Saturday, December 24th,
