A Brutal Parent

(By Telegraph.—-Presa Association,) Duhemn, Thursday, The three-year-old child of Andrew Blues, a storeman, was burned to death last night. The mother is in gaol undergoing a eentenoe fur larceny, her two ohildren being oared for by a hired girl, twelve years old. Before leaving at 9.80, she placed the baby in a cradle a fow feet from tho Ore, An hour later she saw smoke issuing from the house and gave the alarm, but Blues, who had been drinking, refused to allow the neighbours to enter the house, Eventually Mr Victor Kobortshaw did so, rescuing the ohild, but it was sb badly burnt that it died at midnight.
