Lowes and'lows' Eketahuna Stock Sale Report.
Messrs Lowes and loras, notwithstanding the wet weather, report full yards of both sheep and cattle at their Eketahuna Sale yesterday. Buyers were plentiful but the bidding was not so brisk as might have boen expected. There was evidently a. feeling that owing to the very high prices dealers have been giving privately the reserves would be high, and as a result the buyers were backward. More than half the stock was passed in, but with the exception of a few lines, were quitted privately at satisfactory figures. The following prices were realised :—Good hoggets, mixed sexes, 18s 3d; inferior hoggets 9s 6d to 10s; old owes with lambs from bush eeocion 0s; dairy oows and spiingerß from U 10s to L 5 lfls; old cows, low in condition 60s; heifers 65s to 90s ; 2yr old steers 85s to 95a; 18 to 20 month steera 60s; yearlings mixed sexes 47s 6d; weaners, poor condition, 345; a hack for L 7 5s and a pen of pigs 6s to 8s and 1 sow 50s closer! the sale.
