GREYTOWN CRICKET CLUB.
ANNM MEETING. The annual meeting of the above Club wag held in tho Council Chambers, Greytown, on Saturday evening last. There was a largo attendance, and Mr H, S. Izard, Vice-President, ocoupied tbe chair. The Report nnd Balance Sheet mn read and adopted. The Report allowed that tho first and Second Elevens had played in ten matches, tho first team in six, and the second in four. Tho following wero the performances of the First team: - Masterton, 2 matches, 2 wins; Carterton, 2 matches, 1 win ; Matarawa, 2 matches, 2 wins. Tho Second Eleven'B record was:—Carterton, 2 matches, 1 win; Matarawa, 2 matches, both lost, The pitch has lately been topdressed and rolled, and is now in excellent order. It is the intention of the Club to send an eleven to Wellington during tbe Christmas week, A large net is now being made for the practices, which will be a valuable asset of tbe Club, Tho Club desire to thank the President (Mr J. P. Eusiell), Vice-Preai-donts(Mesßrs"W. C. Buchanan, M.H.R, and H, B. lmA), and others, for their generous support, Mr D. P, Loasby for kindly lending wire netting for protecting match wiokets throughout last season, and Mr A. L. Webster for auditing the Club's accounts, The balance-sheet showed that the financial position of the Club was very satisfactory. The assets of the Club are £B7 9s 3d, and the liabilities L nil, In moving the adoption of the balance-sheet the Chairman congratulated the Club. It ocoupied the premier position in the Wairarapa, the year before last, and also last year. Four new members were unanimously elected, viz:—Messrs J. S. Pepper, P. Browne, H, R, Wood, and E. Fildes. The following officers were elected' President, Mr J. P, Bußsell (reelected}; Vice Presidents, Messrß W, C. Buchanan, M,8.8,,H, S. Izard and the Mayor (all re- elected); Secretary, Mr T. J. Itowse; Treasurer, Mr W. J, Knell j General Committee, Mesßrs S. Nicolls, A, A, Elder, H. Hawke, W. A. Tate, J. Eccleton, W. Bruntonand 11, Duff; Captain, Mr 8. Nicolls (re-elected); Deputy or Practice Captain, Mr H, Hawke (reelected);'Match Committee, Mesßrs T. J. Rowse, H. Hawke and S. Nicolls; Ground Committee, samo as General Committee; Delegates to Eeoreation Reserve Committee Meeting, Messrs H, Hawke and S. Niculls j/ (re-eltoted). 1 Mr H, 8, Izard kindly presented a bat to each of the First and Second elevens for tho highest average batsman's score for next season, not less than three innings to count, Mr W. J. Knell also presented a pair of Cricketing Gloves to the member who secures tho highest number of catches, Avoto of thanks was accorded these eontlemm for their generosity, and to Mr W. Brunton for his energy in assisting to make the net, It was decided that the opening day be on the 15th October next, Avoto of thanks to the chair dosed the meeting.
