ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.
Adjourned Meeting. Tlio adjourned meeting of the Alfredton Bond Board was held on 10th September. Present—Messrs H. Dunn (Chairman), Boustead, J, H. Groves, and S. M. George. The miuutes wero read and confirmed, Inwards correspondence waß read. From the Bank of N.Z., acknowledging cheques for ,£ls Ikii and £1419s sd. From the County Engineer, ro plans for Tiraumea Bridge, It was resolved lo request tbe County Engineer to forward plans and copyoilettei'toiheAssistantSurveyorGeneral and ask the Survey Office lo reconaidur tlio matter. From Commissioner of Property Tax, staling voucher had bten sent to Treasury for balance of subsidy, £2 lis lid, From Tieasury, stating same had been sent to tbe Bank, From Bank of N. Z., acknowledging this amount. From W. Cross, re claim for compensation for Ihuraua Valley Eoad. Instructed that the Clerk write again to Survey Office. From Henry Williams, re toll gate. From Bank of N.Z., acknowledging £7B <Md for Public Account. From J, B,' Girdwood, objecting to the road leading iip to Mr KcbWl's being legalised, unless the same is connected with Tiraumea Eo«d. Matter held over until next moeting. ' Clerk instructed to write to Mr Girdwood further on the matter. From Thomas A, Fall, re road to his place. Decided that when the road is laid off, the Engineer will be instructed to take it from peg mentioned. From County Engineer, enclosing plans of Pori road aud slating that the cost of formation would probably be over £2OOO. From Messrs J. Gee, A. Fall and F, White, re work done by Mr Andersen, and stating that they were quite ■ satisfied with the work, and recommend that he be paid for it. From Government, returning the Board accounts duly audited. From R. E. Hornblow and J. Payton & Co,, ro printing;
It was resolved tbat the Government bo requested to put a sum on tlie estimates for a bridge over the second crossing of Tirautnea Creek. The minutes of the Committee meeting of August, 13th were read and confirmed, and the Clerk's letter in connection with the same was approved of.
Notico of motion was m'von to raise £7OO for formation on Mount Baker road.
Messrs S, M. George and I H Groves were appointed to sign cheques Accounts to the amount of £lB 11 4d were passed for payment. Tho Board then adjourned until it next meeting ou Ist October,
