last seon by liira on Wednesday oven» ing. He was a very respectable inon,, ol about forty-soven years, and a bachelor, living by himself. He was a rotired man of considerable means. At tho time of the Rimutaka railway accident ho received a serious wound in tho head and lias been complaining from lime to timo since. He was noticed to bo queer at intervals.
An inquest will probably bo hel to-day,
