Moiki v. Matarawa,
A. tug-of-war between the mill hands of Mepars Buillio (Moiki) and Gallon (Mutarawo) took place at the Palace Hall, Greytown, on Saturday evening laßt, at which there was a large attendance, including great numbers of tho fair sex. The Grey town Private Brass Band played on the balcony, and an exhibition of club exercises was given in the Hall, The,, tug, which lasted twenty-two minuteSk , was won by Matarawa, The teamß, which consisted of ten men each, exelusive of captains, pulled sitting, Mr A, L, Webster acted as referee, .W, Leach (Matarawa) and B. Lovegrove (Moiki) as captains, andW, Gray (Matarawa) and Geo, Smith (Moiki) us anchor men, The losing team is to entertain its opponents at a dinner on Saturday next.
