Further Records of the Polls. Numeious Impersonations at Greenock [united press association.] London, July 5. In the election for North Lambeth Mr Coldwolls, Home Bulor, who polled 2515, defeated H, M, Stanley, who received 2894 votes. At last elections North . Lambeth returned a Conservative by a majority of 412, Mr Gladstone, speaking at Dalkeith, declared that the Irish question leads to Scottish Nationalisation, which Scotland could obtain if it so desired,
There was much rowdyism at the Dudley eleotioD, and Miss Dudley was struck by a stone.
July 6, The result ot the Greenock election, the first returns of which gave Mr J, Bruce a majority of 44 (not 1040 as at first cabled) over Sir Thomas Sutherland, is still doubtful, as it is alleged that heavy impersonation was indulged in, The Times, commanting on the results SO far as recorded, states that it is evident Mr Gladstone will sweep neither London nor the provincial boroughs,
Mr \V, O'Brien is seriously ill at Cork, the result of tlio election outrage,
The polls in tho constituencies are unusually heavy, and the majorities continue narrow.
The Liberal press is unshaken in its confidence in tho ultimate success of the Party, The Times asserts that profuse promises and calumnies have not moved the mass of the nation, The Standard considers there is every prospeot of Mr Gladstone being left in a powerless minority. The Liberals have only gained nine seats in the boroughs, but there are still 61 polls to be taken, including 23 in London.
The Tories lose the Hon. Mr Tlenenge, Sir Charles Lewis, and Air L, Fry. Mr W, O'Brien's sight is affected by the injuries he lias received.
