MASTERTON PARK TRUSTEES.

The quarterly meeting of the Masterton Park Trustees was held in the Council Chambers yesterday, there being present Messrs E. Feist (Chairman), E. Hare, J. C. Boddington, and A, W, Eenall.

The minutes of the previous ordinary and special meetings were read and confirmed. The Treanurer reported a credit balance of £2518s Bd, TREE PUNTING. The Borough Council forwarded a letter received from the Re?. J. Dukes with reference to the planting of trees,

The Chairman said the Council did not think it proper to plant trees abng the streets, and had therefore forwarded the letter to the Trust, thinking they might take advantage ' of the offer of the Government.

Mr Boddington thought they might prooure what trees they wanted from local nurserymen. Mr Hare did not think they required trees for the Park, Mr Eenall suggested that the owners of the property should permit the Council to plant trees on the inside of fences. He would give permission to plant trees on his property. The letter from Mr Dukes waa laid on the table. A.t the request of the ranger it was resolved to procure six maorooarpa for planting in the Park. THE rLAN, The Chairman intimated that he had received a plan of the Park from the Government. PARK SEATS. The Secretary explained that the tender of Mr Jago at £5 8s had been accepted for the provision of seats for the Park,but had not been completed. It waß decided that the seats must bo provided within a fortnight or the contract determined, THE DEEDS. _ An account of £8 for the preparation of the deeds was passed for payment, the Chairman intimating that the deeds had been handed over to Mm, ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed for'payment: Secretary, £1 lis Gd, ranger, £ll4s Gd. The meeting then adjourned.
