WINTER EVENING ENTERTAINMENT.
Conceit, at St Matthew's Schoolroom, . A very pleasant evening was spent at 8t Matthew's schoolroom last night, when the first of a series of winter evening entertainments'took place, The number of contributors was large, every item being received with appreciation. Anespeoial festurein .the concert was the instrumental
selections by Messrs Russell and E, H, Eton, Winchester and Ginders, H. Kees and the Misses Pearson and M.Sellar. Songs were contributed by theMißSes Anderßon,,Duckworth and Gurr and Mrs Arnott, the two former ladies receiving hearty encores. Messrs J. Aitken, W, ; Bray, 0. H. Campbell and W, Clifford also gave songs, while Maßter Dagg recited "Jessie's Dream." The entertainment was brought to a close by an ingenions marrionette performance, the fibres being worked by Mr W. Beetham, We understand that the next entertainment will take place in about three weeks. . ; ■
