Ronwsd Attack on Oartorton. The Salvation Army, which soveral years (igo held services in Carterton as an " quipost" from Masterton, but to, owing to many unfavourable circumstances, only moderately successful, renewed the attack on that town* ship yesterday, and succeeded in creating quite a good impression. Tho services, h'ld in the Ecchabito Hall (which has been leased for a term) were conduotcd by Major Robinson, assisted by Captains Sutherland, Kerr, and Bix, and Lieut. Barriball, the two latter officers having been appointed to take charge ot tho station.. A number of soldiers were also present from Masterton. The three meetings held were characterised by the usual amount of enthusiasm, and vigorous addresses were delivered by 'the various olliarft, The hall was crowded at each servil, and the utmost good order prevailed. This was a pleasant surprise to tho officers, who went fully prepared for s more interesting reception. .from a Salvationist point of view the meeti inga we.re highly successful, several converts' having been mado. and the collections bejng goqd. In future meetings are to to held nightly at Carterton,
