PAHIATUA JOCKEY CLUB.
A committee meeting was held on Riesday e»ening at tbe Commercial Hotel. Present—Messrs W. Tosswill (Chairman), J,. Godfrey, E, Brenton, J..P. Oltirk, H. Tbomaa, E. Sullivan and J, Devonshire (Secretary).
_ The minutes of the previous meet* ing were read and confirmed. , Twenty-two now members were proposed for election, and wore duly elected. The Chairman stated that the lease and other necessary deeds in connection with the course were signed andtbe ground was now therefore vested in the Club's Trustees. It was reported that the contract lor tile logging and clearing of the raoing track was nearly completed, and that the club bad enough funds in hand to pay the contract price
After a desultory conversation upon the position and prospects ot the club, which were considered to be eminently satisfactory, the meeting adjourned with a vot of thanks to the Chair.
