HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
TneSprln*"Snow\ The spring show of the Masterton Horticultural and Industrial Society opened in the Drill Hall to-day. Although the weather is not particularly favorable and the prevalence of influenza has prevented a number from exhibiting, the show is one of the best-held in the district. The staging arrangements are very complete and everything is shown to the best of advantage. The display of pot and cat flowers is quite up to the usual standard, whilst vegetables are well represented. For the season of the year there is a good show of fruit. The feature of the show, however, is the splendid exhibition of local products and fancy work. A fine collection of bullock's horns,' mounted by Mr C. F. Worth, are a great attraction, as are alsqfMr Price's photographic specimens. Altogether the ■how, which will be open from three o'clock till ten this evening, is a credit to the officers of the Society. We are requested to state that Pearson's Brass Band will render selections daring the evening.
