COMMERCIAL.
Mr F. H. Wood held his usual fortnightly stock sale at bis Taratahi yards on Thursday, and roports of the same as follows:
Sheep.—Several good pens were"? yarded considerably in excess of the number advertised. Bidding, however, wbb unusually blow, prices offered not reaching vendor's ideas as to value ; moat lines were passed in. Private sales were subsequently effected at following prices: Ewes in lamb, 9s jd to lis lOd; forward ewes and wethers, 14s 6d; 2-tooth wethers, turnip fed, 15s. The above prices showing n decided drop Bi'nce last Bale. Cattle were in fair demand, and the following is a quotation ot prices: —calves, 17b ; yearlings, 27a; heifers in calf, 62s to 61s; dairy cows, 60s to 77s 6d; store ditto, 20s to 50s.
