FATAL ACCIDENT.

Crushed to Se&th. [By Telegraph] (From Our Own Correspondent.) Carterton, Wednesday. A sad iatal accident occurred at Gladstone yesterday. The eldest son of Mr [Sexton, of the Hurunuiorangi Hotel, was carting firewood in company with a Maori, and waa walking by the side of the loaded cart, when one of the wheels suddenly dropped into a hole and the cart was overturned. The unfortunate lad had not time to escape, and the whole of the load fell on him. When extricated Ei horrible sight was presented, the body being literally crushed to flatiess. Death must have been instantaneous. The funeral takes place tomorrow.
