I A man named Bryce Hopkins, 82 years of age, bas been choked to death at the Thames through swallowing a large pieee of gristle. John Collins, who became intoxicated yesterday for the second time in three days, was this morning sentenced to twenty-four hours' hard labour for the offence. He is now engaged in the garden at the police station. We understand that Mr A. W. Benall intends cutting a fresh drain, to run parallel with the railway line, for the conveyance of the water to hi? mill lead. The contract has been let to Mr John Gardiner.
