MILLITARY CALLED TO ACTIVE SERVICE.

Brisbane, March 20,

Word was received in this city this afternoon that 800 Unionists had taken possession of Capella, a small township near Clermont. They compelled the publicans to supply them with free drinks, after which they proceeded to destroy the telegraph "line to Retro Station, and wound Hp by setting fire to a quantity of goods belonging to the Railway Department. The latest news from the disturbed district states that a body of some 80 Unionists visited Lome Station, near Blackall, and while_ the manager of the ststion was interviewing them in the wool Bhed the building was set on fire, and the flames obtaining a good mastery it was

soon burnt to tho ground. All the grass between Lome and Terri.k Stations lias been fired, and th Unionists have lit several tires in the vicinity of Barcakline. Unionists to the number of about 1200 am drilling every day at Barcakline.

The Rockharanton Infantry have been called out on active service, and will leave at once for the scene of the trouble.
